My Turning Point

New Year’s Day always ushers in a feeling of excitement. The slate feels clean and we’re brimming with confidence about fulfilling our New Year’s resolutions.

Uh, until the excitement hangover hits. At least it always did for me. You probably know the feeling – when you come down to earth and the wind’s gone from your sails.

Last year I knew things had to change. No more resolutions for me. I wanted real results.

I began the year with pen in hand on New Year’s Eve writing down monthly, yearly, and multi-yearly – as in three years from today – goals. I had to make sure Not to set the bar so high as to make my goals seem impossible and not to set it too low for them to feel unchallenging.

Another change for me was that I looked at my list every day. Funny, at first this felt strange and awkward. That too changed with practice and persistence.

Tonight I just checked off my 2006 goals. And am very happy to report I’ve reached or exceeded all of them. First time this has ever happened.

How did I manage to turn fizzling New Year’s resolutions into workable, achievable goals that motivated me day-in, day-out? First off, I banished useless wishful thinking. I’d been there, done that.

Next I began applying time-tested ancient secrets. Secrets of great simplicity and awesome power.

And I mean the kind of power that transforms lives.

Now, what if I tell you I am going to make those secrets available to YOU - for NOTHING. Yes, you read correctly. You won’t have to shed even one penny to receive this special New Year’s Gift.

ABBA, Beatles and the Beach Boys

Yesterday Clayton and I took Clara to the ice rink for her first whirl on skates. After holding on to us for dear life she started to get the hang of it and fear turned into pure enjoyment.

Then came the moment of truth. They announced the last song after which Clara didn’t want to get off the ice. She didn’t want to take off her skates. She didn’t want to return her rental skates either. And she didn’t want to put on her shoes.

Clara’s definite plans for her life were explained away by us with rational reason. Luckily, Clara responded favorably. But not before we promised to return to the rink today.

Back to our skating experience.

Though I wish the music selection could have included some Johann Strauss Waltzes, at least we weren’t subjected to much of what passes as popular music these days.

Our ears and gliding limbs were exposed to - the Beach Boys, the Beatles and Abba.

Easygoing melodies with simple harmonies most folks can tolerate. Not bad. I must say, while stretching my legs for a few solo turns on the ice, I was smiling to some of the songs.

Most ears will never grow tired of good simple melodies supported by good simple harmonies and good, simple rhythms. Like the ones on the five CDs that make up The Secret Power of Words and Music.

As you welcome in the New Year tonight, put on some great music.

Not the pounding, heart-beat quickening, gyrating junk that passes for music. No, listen to positively charged, relaxing sounds. Sounds that slow you down while waking you up. Not to be mistaken for sad music. But the Vibrations of joy and meditation.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Tomorrow is going to be a MAJOR Day of Celebration.

Hawaii on My Mind

About 75 percent of people in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea and the United Kingdom say they experience stress every day. This according to a recent AP-Ipsos poll.

And those feelings of anxiety are even more intense during the holidays.

There’s one state, however, that defies expectation. I just read that Hawaii had the longest lived people in the United States. Typically Hawaiians live to be over 80.

Had to ponder that one, because I’ve been to Hawaii several times and noticed that along with the fruit, islanders also favor fast, fatty and sugary foods. Their diet seemed far from healthy to me. So, I was AT FIRST surprised to see it rank highest in longevity.

Then it dawned on me. You could call it an A-ha moment.

Why do I love Hawaii so much. Simple – it’s so relaxing and there’s plenty of sun. Those two factors alone are incredibly powerful. Fact is, relaxation and sun help overcome islanders’ poor dietary habits. Imagine how long they’d live with plenty of exercise and a good diet.

Lack of sun makes you prone to getting sick according to the latest research from Harvard. It prevents your body from making the most important thing it needs to keep the flu and cold at bay – vitamin D.

Coupled with stress – well, let’s just say that stress is a killer. Stress turns us into simmering, steaming volcanoes ready to erupt at any moment. It boils our blood and kills our immune boosting cells. And Hawaiians have the antidote to stress – relaxation – down to a science.

So really, I’m completely convinced Hawaiians have the upper hand when it comes to healthy longevity. Sun and Relaxation win every time.

Why not take your health into your own hands. Even if you don’t live in Hawaii you can indulge yourself in the ultimate stress reducer – the music in the Sounds of Gold package.

Listen to the magic of high frequency melodies and join Hawaiians in what they do best – Relax.

What Your Brainwaves Sound Like

I’ve got exciting news today. Russian researchers have discovered a way to translate your brainwaves into music.

Yes, your brainwaves can be turned into actual music. Not just a random series of notes.

They call it brain music therapy and it’s been used by 10,000 patients around the world to treat anxiety, depression, stress related disorders, migraines, and insomnia. Many of these people have dropped their dependencies on medication. It also helps people overcome their social and performance anxieties. And that’s why experts say those notes can heal.

It works in 82-85 percent of people who’ve tried it according to the latest double blind studies.

NBC recently interviewed one of the doctors who brought the technology to New York. Dr. Galina Mindlin explained how your slow and fast brainwaves are translated into music digitally with a special algorithm.

She says, “Just as our brain is capable of recognizing a familiar sound, like your own voice, it is capable of recognizing a deeply imbedded sound of its own brain waves.”

Can you imagine. Personal music for your brain.

The best is yet to come. When asked by NBC what the music sounds like Dr. Mindlin replied, “It sounds like classical piano music.”

These are highly personal musical frequencies. And they sound like high frequency classical music. They’re now being tested on pilots, military personnel and professional athletes, who in preliminary studies have been found to achieve peak performance.

The potential for this technology is endless. What’s so exciting is classical music has never been such a hot topic as it is now.

You don’t have to be a scientist to understand classical music is hot.

As Dr. Galina Mindlin says, with music “there are no side effects, nor is it addictive.” Take advantage of great music now.

Tania Gabrielle French

How Commercials Make You Fat

McDonald’s knows how to influence people’s taste buds.

And they do it in a very shrewd way. Especially when it comes to minorities. For example, in their TV ads aimed at African Americans, the black consumers tend to be stylish and use hip contemporary language and music.

The music is key to getting the viewers’ tastebuds and braincells aligned so they get up from their couch and head over to Mickey Dee’s for lunch.

According to recent research those ads don’t feature salads, but Quarter Pounders with Cheese, Big Macs and Fries.

The ads, of course, look and sound very cool. You get the feeling you’ve won the social and fun lottery if you go partake in the fast food. And as with many lottery winners, the prize and initial excitement eventually disappear.

In its stead we get obesity and diabetes and a host of other diseases.

Fast food ads won’t ever reveal what happens to someone in their 40’s when their cholesterol has shot through the roof and their heart has to work miracles to pump blood.

Pumped-up music coupled with enticing visuals works like magic. Your mind isn’t ever aware it’s being hardwired for what’s being sold.

Thankfully, there IS an antidote to being brainwashed.

If you want to stay in full control of your mental faculties and daily decisions – take a high frequency music break.

It doesn’t take long to get a healthy fix. Just a few minutes will do the trick and bring your brain cells back to a lively, healthy state.

There are two ways to do this. By investing in the bestselling Secret Power of Words and Music 5 CD Package.

And by becoming an Inner Circle Member entitling you to a special music package once a month. Hey, with the first month free, you’ve got nothing to loose and far more to gain. Go here and become of Sounds of Gold Member Now -

What a Glass of Beer Proves Yet Again

I’m not a beer drinker, never was. Even so, this recent study had me laughing and marveling at the power of mind over matter.

The topic today is your taste buds. Or more specifically – how knowing the ingredients beforehand can change your taste.

What you THINK is going into your mouth actually CHANGES what you taste. In other words, your tastebuds are affected by your thoughts. If you expect something to taste a certain way, within reason of course, it will.

Back to the beer drinkers.

Most people who like beer would say vinegar worsens the taste. But Dr. Leonard Lee from M.I.T. found after a blind taste test where people didn’t know which beer contained the vinegar – 60 percent actually preferred the vinegar beer.

Another group of tasters found out which beer was which After they tasted it, but before they made their choices, and even so preferred the vinegar beer by the same margin. Their expectations won out.

The group who knew which beer had vinegar before taking a swig, well – you guessed it didn’t like it. Only about a third chose the vinebeer.

What does this prove.

Expectations can change how you experience life. Parents are masters at changing their children’s expectations. Dr. Lee remembers his mom giving him cod liver oil as a nutritional supplement. She called it ‘syrup.’

Another good and more unbiased parent would say, ‘just try it. You’ll like it.’

You know the saying ‘what you see is what you get’. Maybe it’s time to add ‘What you think is what you get.’ Hey, that includes other people’s words too. After all words are just thoughts made manifest.

Many people who are oblivious to this have overloaded and foggy brains. Can’t think clearly. Have trouble focusing and making even tiny decisions. It’s really quite disarmingly common.

What clears up run down brain cells. Music that’s positively charged. Charged up with light, with joy and with serenity. You see, music has its special ingredients too.

And you don’t need to add vinegar to prove it.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

A Dose of Joy for the Winter Blues

My mother used to get the winter blues this time of year. In northern Germany the skies were mostly grey and the sun a rare visitor.

It’s quite common to feel a little down when days get shorter and sunlight barely emerges from above the horizon. But there’s another unseen ingredient contributing to the winter blues.

It might even be more seasonal than the winter blues.

One out of every two Americans report higher levels of anxiety, sadness, depression and stress during the holidays. One in four Americans say dealing with their family is the worst thing about the holidays.

Oh, can’t forget the holiday hog syndrome. The average American gains 10 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. That’s about 2 pounds a week for five weeks straight.

There’s no other time of the year when we spend more, eat more, gain more and get sicker.

Of course it does Not have to be this way. For one, if you’re doing things you really Don’t want to do, Stop doing them. You have the power to change the downward spiral into holiday hell.

Take time for yourself and Slow down.

Start exercising. These two things are not contradictions. One will help the other and vise versa.

Protect your emotional and spiritual health by doing things that make you feel great. That make you laugh. Eating and spending more won’t fit the bill if the repercussions are negative – i.e. you feel like a slob and you go into debt.

If you live in a cold climate, take a walk during the warmest part of the day to clear the cobwebs from your mind. A good walk does wonders.

Listen to uplifting, positively charged music. Music with high frequencies. Sounds that calm and inspire you. You’ll relax quicker than it takes to read this.

Indulge in the sounds on The Secret Power of Words and Music 5 CDs that make up your very own dose of rejuvenating calmness.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

The Power of a Sweet, Gentle Voice

Do you remember when children used to sing with sweet and innocent voices? Before little girls tried to emulate pop stars.

When I was a wee girl we didn’t have Madonna, Christina and Britney wannabes shouting the latest pop songs.

Which is why I’m so pleased to offer you the following bonus CD when you sign up this month for the Sounds of Gold Inner Circle.

This time you have my mom to thank.

In Germany, my mother founded a children’s choir that toured Europe on a regular basis. These kids were NOT belters, trying to drown each other out - one brasher than the other.

No, these were sweet, sweet voices. And it’s precisely what made the Schönwasser Kinderchor so unique.

My mother knew exactly what she wanted to hear from her little charges. Natural, unforced sounds. She made sure the girls and boys weren’t belting out the music in current pop-star fashion. You wouldn’t believe how innocent and gentle, even angelic these children sound. A rarity in our fast-paced, loud, notice-me-at-all-costs world.

It’s these voices that make up this month’s bonus CD, a selection of carols from around the world. Most which I arranged.

So make sure you enroll as a member of the Sounds of Gold Inner Circle right now. At present we only have another 47 copies to send out to new members.

You can be sure to get one of those if you enroll Now.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. The December issue, including this special Holiday Bonus CD, was just mailed. With two positively charged CDs of beautiful music and a newsletter chocker-block full of insider tips, it’s sure to sell out. When you add that the first month’s on me, well, might want to sprint and get the current issue Now.

No Prescription Needed

Last night I experienced the healing power of music first hand.

A few minutes after learning a person I greatly admired had passed away, I was strongly drawn to play a movement of one of Mozart’s Symphonies. Very quickly I was transported from a state of sadness to another realm.

Really, it’s nearly impossible to describe how music affects your emotions. Let me try. At that moment of listening I felt a blissful sense of profound joy, and a strong sense that my friend, Elora, was fine.

I was calmed down in a most exquisite way. At that moment, I was touched.

Call me crazy, bonkers, weird – it’s all ok with me. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything though.

Do you know that today, music is being used in hospitals, clinics, and physician’s offices. Do you know the pulse of music affects your body’s natural rhythms INSTANTANEOUSLY.

Anyone at any age can use music as a tool for healing.

1. Soothe your jangled nerves.

2. Calm your mind and body.

3. Lower your blood pressure

4. Boost your immune system

5. Focus your mind

No prescription needed. No refills required. No worries of addiction. A perfect antidote to any kind of mental and physical stress.

Here’s a toast to the power of Great Music.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

Surprises and Gifts

Yesterday I told you about the ‘Come in Peace’ CD that’s included with December’s Sounds of Gold CD and Newsletter.

But I didn’t reveal WHY the music on this CD is so special. You could say, it might make you feel like you’ve discovered Paradise or gone to Heaven.

That’s often what listeners feel when they hear classical harp music. More than any other instrument, the harp helps to regulate heart rate, blood pressure and breathing according to research.

I made sure to compose a lot of calming harp music for December’s ‘Come in Peace’ CD. After all, what most people try to do without this month is - rest. I’ve also graced this soothing music with beautiful string orchestra accompaniments. Gentle piano melodies can also be heard on December’s Sounds of Gold CD.

What’s more, you’ll find out how you can remain at peace while exposed to the holiday hustle and bustle in this month’s Sounds of Gold Newsletter.

Plus I reveal a very private story and the role gift-giving played. Not to mention my monthly insider music and CD recommendations. All for subscribers only.

Since December’s Sounds of Gold Newsletter and CD are on me, there’s really no reason not to subscribe. The ‘Come in Peace’ CD alone will give you multiple years worth of instant relaxation.

Oh, a surprise bonus is also included – it’s holiday themed and pretty personal. Can’t reveal any more than that.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

How to Beat the Cold and Flu

How to Beat the Cold and Flu

One of the most important ingredients to good health – if not THE most important - is happiness. More than previously thought.

I can really relate.

Before we moved away from the stresses of life in Los Angeles, I would occasionally get colds and the flu. Fact is, residing in L.A. was depressing my immune system. Because I wasn’t the happiest big city camper.

Then just like magic, once we left L.A.’s stressful environment, I haven’t been sick.

Coincidence? Possibly.

But I’m not so sure. Feeling happy and calm in my daily surroundings certainly boosted my immune system. Even while we lived in Vermont for a short time.

I soon learned it’s not the weather making you sick - Vermont’s a lot colder than L.A – it is your body’s ability to eradicate germs before they make themselves at home in your bloodstream.

That’s what the latest study is confirming.

Get yourself into a happy, creative, calm state of mind and have a much greater chance of avoiding the cold and flu bugs this season.

Supposedly when happy people do catch a cold, they have fewer symptoms than you might expect. Why? Because happiness will not only protect your body from stress, but also boost your immune system so you don’t get sick.

Nothing like laughing away those ugly winter germs. A warm inner smile does wonders to eradicate those pesky foreign invaders.

All this good news is true regardless of your age, race, gender or body mass index.

There’s little doubt positive emotions wield a powerful spell on your well-being and physical health.

Maybe these studies seem trivial. But if you consider how many listless, tired, groggy weeks of illness you can avoid, let alone the drugs you won’t take – it’s actually really important.

Strengthen your immune system the fun way – by laughing, smiling and seeing the hidden humor in everything.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French
