How to Use Music Through the Day

“Yawn.” You’ve just woken up. Your mind and body may be most alert first thing in the morning. But…

Your sleepy nervous system needs a jumpstart. The easy solution - wake up your sleepy brain to energizing classical music.

“Woah!” You’ve finished a meeting on a morning high. Thing is – you’re too wound up about the proposed changes to concentrate on what’s really important. You want to get your thoughts to the task at hand and block out the gossip at the copying machine.

Put on your headphones and listen some focusing music.

“Yawn.” You’ve just finished lunch. Feeling listless and tired.

Walk around the block with an uplifting selection of music. You’ll raise your spirits and keep the afternoon snooze at bay.

“Blank.” You enter the common mid-afternoon slump. Just as your input is needed on a creative new project. Time for a creating selection of music – the kind that stimulates free association from the right hemisphere of your brain. Now you’re cooking.

“Grrr!” You’re stuck in traffic and late for yoga class. Stomach churning after a stressful day. You’re in danger of harming a fellow driver.

A cleansing selection of music comes to the rescue. As you listen to your car stereo your adrenaline rapidly decreases.

“Yikes!” You arrive home to find your spouse lying on the couch with a tension headache. You remember to play some healing music to clear up his headache in time for a romantic dinner.

“Hello.” It’s time to get to bed, but suddenly you’re wide awake, worrying about what you didn’t do today and what you need to accomplish tomorrow.

What to play - a relaxing selection of music. Turn down the lights and let the musical massage lull you into a deep sleep.

That’s a typical day for many folks. Contrast that with the ‘normal’ solution to everyday stresses – caffeine, alcohol, mental effort.

Music offers a natural way to keep you in synch.

Question is – which music do you play and when do you play it. Enter the Sounds of Gold Newsletter and CD. Every month you’ll receive answers to those questions and a lot more. Including an insider list of specific CDs. For every imaginable mood.

And, of course, you get the golden nugget. A CD of positively charged classical music. Composed to a specific theme. Designed to uplift you. Inspire you.

Pump your brain and body with atoms of musical electricity.

The first month’s issue is on me. That includes shipping and handling.

Big News - The Link Between Cancer and Stress

Both of my mother and father had cancer. I’ve always had a hunch about what might have contributed to their illnesses.

Now a new study has found a strong link between stress and cancer.

Researchers have discovered there’s a hormone you produce during stressful periods called Norepinephrine.

How does this hormone increase the rate of cancer?

It stimulates the tumor cells to release a chemical. The chemical then helps the blood vessels that feed cancer cells grow. The result - the growth and spread of cancer increases.

This news from conventional medicine confirms my hunch was true. My mom and dad, who had divorced, both certainly had an abundance of inner turmoil. This emotional and mental conflict set the groundwork for an immune system gone out of balance.

Thing is, and this is key, both never learned to handle stress in a healthy way.

The plain and simple fact is this. Stress is a key precursor to any illness. In addition, if you don’t handle it in a healthy way, your brain may REWIRE itself. And actually alter the way it functions.

Again, this is something I observed in my mom and dad. Their brain connections were definitely changed along the way.

What helps you stay balanced emotionally and mentally:

You can do it with laughter.
You can do it with positively charged music.
You can do it with exercise.
You can do it with meditation.
You can do it with creative projects.

When all of the above are activated regularly, stress is eliminated.

Funny how these 5 Keys to Good Health repair your immune system. They’re relaxing AND invigorating, and enjoyable activities for any age. They work like magic.

If you choose 3 of these 5 activities every day, you’re making great strides towards good health and happiness.

Total Relaxation.
An absence of worry.
A clear mind and a joyful disposition.

These are things anyone would want. Your road to eliminating stress and fine-tuning your health begins with ‘The Secret Power of Words and Music’ 5 CD package - The Secret Power of Words and Music - listen now.

Here’s to Your Health,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. It’s no use fighting stress. Unless you like adding more conflict to your life. The only way to eliminate stress is to balance it with plenty of un-stressful activities. The easiest of them all is listening to high frequency classical music. Give your brain something to laugh about.

How You Get Better Sleep And Brain Power

I love sleeping in. Especially on weekends and holidays. Turns out – your brain loves it too.

People who sleep soundly are happier and healthier. They’re also more alert and in tune with daily living.

Contrast this to folks who wake up tired and fatigued. What’s the first thing that goes – your social graces. There’s just not enough energy to be, well, a nice person.

You know the scenario. Your wife or husband or child walks into the room wanting your attention about something or another, and you brush them off.

Even though you don’t want to. Or mean to. Pretty crazy. But pretty common.

It goes something like this:

"Good Morning honey. How did you sleep last night?"

You grumble something or another with a frown on your face. Actually it’s a slap in the face. And good way to set the tone for a dreary day.

I’ve been there and done that. And I’m not alone. The numbers are in.

When Americans were polled about their sleep habits a whopping 75% reported restless nights. Three-quarters of American adults are practically sleepwalking through the day. Making decisions about food, work, what to watch on teevee and their future while their not really conscious. Oh my.

Now there’s a simple way to enhance your sleep. In two words, ‘Try Music ’. Not just any sounds. But music you’ve personally discovered feels like a lullaby.

Adults with sleep deprivation who listened to soft classical music at bedtime reported a 35 percent improvement in their quality of sleep. Not only better sleep, but longer sleep. Like anything that’s good for you, you’ve got to step up to the plate and DO it.

Just knowing that music is far more than just background noise – that it can improve your brainpower, reduce stress, lower blood pressure and more would make any sane person sit up and take notice.

Music has real effects on your mood and even your ability to tolerate pain.

So step up to the plate and fall asleep faster, sleep more soundly and wake up feeling refreshed by listening to calming, relaxing music Now.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Probably, like most people, you’re often on the go, whether at work, to and from work, with your kids, even at home and during ‘off time’. Putting on music during any and all these situations WILL relax you. It’s plain and simple. And yours for the taking.

The Percussive Healer

On Sunday we attended an orchestral concert featuring a brand new percussion concerto.

Didn’t know what to expect – after all, a concerto for percussion is a pretty recent phenomenon. Every square foot of the front stage was taken up by various African drums, cymbals, marimba and Chinese prayer bowls.

Then the tall handsome bald soloist walked on stage. Tim Adams, principal timpanist of the Pittsburgh Symphony, embodied the role of “The Healer”, the title of the music we were about to hear.

Our daughter Clara was riveted – for 30 minutes. I got several chills down my spine. You could have heard a pin drop at anytime. Incredible. This was great music and the audience knew it. Everyone rose to give the composer, Lucas Richman and soloist a standing ovation.

After the performance, we spoke to both of them for a long time.

What do you know. They had a great trait in common – other than being world-class musicians. Both have an indomitable, positive spirit. Immensely engaging human beings you could spend hours conversing with.

It’s funny how the performance reflected this stellar quality. Or maybe it’s no coincidence. I think it’s why, instead of clapping politely as an audience will often do following a new piece of music, people spontaneously rose to their feet.

A beautiful moment, made more extraordinary by being shared with others.

May your Thanksgiving holiday be a series of similar moments with like-minded family and friends. Blessed by the magic and mystery of great classical music.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

Get Peak Performance With Music

What makes music so powerful is that it really is a tonic for your brain.

Anything you think about can be enhanced with appropriate sounds and music. Anything you do can be enhanced with music.

For example:

When you want peak performance, music can

1. Speed up your brain waves
2. Arouse your body
3. Fill you with the electric energy of sound
4. Enhance your charisma

And that’s because music can be compared to an electrical charge. It’s why certain energizing music can help you to

1. Wake up
2. Deliver more dynamic presentations
3. Play the winning hand when you’re negotiating or playing a game with Lady Luck
4. Add power to your workout

What’s more, this energy is created inside of you naturally just by turning on the play button on your iPod or CD player.

When it comes to music that takes you to greater heights both physically and mentally, The Secret Power of Words and Music is a 5 CD package of success. You even receive an inside view of how music changes your brain cells – just like chocolate does.

In the foreseeable future ‘the music effect’ will become common knowledge. Even indispensable.

Drug companies beware – there are tunes that are already reducing the need for pharmaceuticals. Hospitals are proving this every day.

Now you can use positive music as a preventative. As a healthy eliminator of stress. What else is so easy, has no unhealthy side-effects and can be used at any age at any time?

Nothing.

Get your peak performance Every day starting right Now.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. “I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with 5 CDs.” - George Eliot

Why Music Is So Spectacular

Last night Clayton, Clara and I went over to a good friend’s house for dinner, good conversation and music.

The music part wasn’t planned. Our host happens to be a great singer – think Frank Sinatra mixed with Josh Groban. We were treated to some beautiful original songs accompanied by guitar and piano.

Yes, I’m not talking about classical music. But great music, nonetheless. Hey, if it takes you to a calm place, uplifts your spirit and rejuvenates your soul – it’s great stuff. On that note - soon I’ll be revealing my picks for the best high frequency, positive sounds available. And those picks will not be exclusively classical.

Since we’re talking Sinatra…

Frank Sinatra’s voice is gorgeous and soothing. His voice resonates with positive high frequencies, plus Sinatra’s songs are melodic and beautiful.

Also, Frank did not utilize low frequency thumping sounds to pound his music into you. He’s all about gentle story telling and joy.

Add to that - Sinatra usually sang with a full orchestra. Strings and winds and horns contribute greatly to the high frequency quotient. Especially in Sinatra songs and arrangements, which are often on the slow side. Slow, meaning, their tempo creates a healthy heartbeat of around 60 beats a minute.

Music that uplifts your spirit and slows down your breathing is good for you. The same goes for wise words. Powerful stuff indeed.

Getting positively charged music into your system transforms your day from mundane to special. Who wants to feel like it’s ‘just another day’. Nobody. How about rejoicing in ‘how great a day it is’. Good vibrations have a funny way of doing that.

The Secret Power of Words and Music package is chocker-block full of these rejuvenating vibrations. Get your copy today.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. It’s Easy. It’s Healthy. It’s Powerful .

Five Ways to Beat the High Volume

Often the only way to block out unwanted noise is to turn up the volume on your iPod.

Understandable, but beware.

MP3 players are great little devices – except for one dilemma. You’ve got to keep the volume lower than you might want to.

Because, if you turn the volume to maximum on a typical iPod device for more than 5 minutes a day, you could permanently damage your hearing. It only takes a handful of minutes. My bet is that there are millions of people around the world who’ve already done in their hearing.

The noisier your environment, the greater the danger, since you’ll be wanting to cancel out noise with higher-than-safe volumes.

The number of gadgets sending amplified sound directly into your ear canal, including cell phones, has risen exponentially in the last few years. Maybe that’s why over 2/3rds of hearing loss is now occurring in people below age 65. That’s a big change.

Here are five ways to prevent this kind of hearing loss.

1. If you’re exposed to noise, take breaks in silence to recuperate.

2. Listen to music that doesn’t have a pounding beat and amplified instruments, such as electric guitar.

3. Purchase noise reduction earphones so you can hear better at lower volumes.

4. Take time-outs from ear devices by plugging your MP3 into speakers.

5. Recuperate frayed eardrums with soothing, calming sounds.

Quiet down your day as often as you can. The benefits are tremendous – notably a clear mind and less tension. Better yet, play the sounds that naturally bring you into that quiet space - http://www.artabundance.com/secretpower.htm - you can’t go wrong with positively charged music.

Scary Accident Ends Well

On a recent trip to Florida our daughter Clara nearly drowned in a hotel pool. She was being watched by her nanny Jaime while we were inside at a seminar.

After playing together in the 5 foot deep pool, Jaime got out to grab her towel. Clara stood at the edge of the pool. Turns out the towel was 50 feet away. Jaime turned around and Clara had disappeared.

She’d jumped or fallen into the pool.

Luckily Clara didn’t swallow much water. Of course she was in shock and coughed for a while.

Ever since that scary episode she’s had the hardest time hearing other people cough. She’ll tell anyone who does to stop. In the beginning her reactions were quite emotional. She would instantaneously react to a cough a mile away and start crying.

Now she temporarily stops what she’s doing, but still asks for the person to stop. Her allergic reaction to the sound of coughs will hopefully disappear soon.

All of us have emotional connections to certain sounds. These are sound memories. Often you might hear certain music, a name or word, a voice or a particular sound – that triggers a memory. Mostly subconsciously. But sometimes the memory can be strong enough to bring up a visual scene in your mind.

Clara had an especially traumatic visual connection to a sound. Since coughing season is upon us, we’re crossing our fingers.

Otherwise she’ll have to be quarantined from the public.

Just kidding. It’s no joke though that sound is powerful. On the flipside, when used in a positive way – sound is a great healer.

You can experience uplifting sounds by listening to the five CDs in the The Secret Power of Words and Music. Don’t wait. Create your good sound memories now.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Soon there’ll be an announcement that will take you deep into the world of aural delights.

How Movie Vibrations Are Affecting You

Yesterday I received a call from a close friend who had professionally videoed one of my husband Clayton’s performances.

He told me how he was in tears by the end of the music.

That got me excited to find our boxes of recorded concerts as well. Forgot we had such a treasure trove – including many on DVD. I guess moving 5 times in less than 3 years can do that to your memory.

These incredible audio and video recordings won’t be sitting on the shelf much longer. More on that in a week or two.

Clayton just returned from L.A. where he was leading the orchestra for the new Disney movie “Ratatouille”. The film won’t be released until next spring and he’ll be going back in February for more scoring.

He says the movie is a hoot. Here, in his own words -

‘The story concerns a rat, living in Paris, who has a passion for fine food and aspires to be a chef. When the trailer was shown to us yesterday the whole orchestra roared with laughter. It's being directed by the guy who did 'The Incredibles.' If you liked that film I think you will love this one.

‘The music is by Michael Giacchino of 'Incredibles', 'Mission Impossible 3', and 'Lost' fame. I'm playing concertmaster of the orchestra and have many Parisian cafe type fiddle solos to enjoy.’

Sound and music are crucial ingredients in any film. But do you know which movie used the violent effects of low frequency sounds on audience members.

You may remember the film “The Earthquake” which came out in 1974.

“The Earthquake” was unique because it introduced a system called Sensoround. It’s probably a good thing that I was too young to have seen this movie. Why?

Because Sensoround used Low frequencies so effectively.

On one of the soundtracks of the print, a signal was recorded that triggered an oscillator. This oscillator produced a low frequency rumble that was played through specially installed bass speakers in the movie theatre.

These negative low frequencies need bass speakers because they can often be below audible levels. But, truth be told, you’re definitely feeling them.

Here’s what happened to the audience.

When an earthquake occurred in the film, this powerful inaudible low frequency made the intestines of all audience members vibrate violently. It gave the feeling that the whole building was shaking.

Add to that the shattering audible portion of senoround and you had yourself quite the uncomfortable movie-going experience.

The point is that, had you been in that auditorium, your intestines would have vibrated violently whether you heard the soundtrack or not. That’s how powerful very low frequencies are.

Can you imagine? An inaudible sound vibration that’s so strong that it tricks the mind into thinking you’re feeling a major earthquake? An Immediate sensory experience caused by a vibration you can’t even hear? A negative oscillating wave that makes you feel fear. This technology has been around for decades.

In the same way, high frequencies are just vibrations. The big difference is that they have a positive influence on you.

Whether they are audible or not, they make you feel good. And that’s something we all need – a good feeling inside. The Secret Power of Words and Music CDs - do just that - bring you good vibrations. This is music and wisdom combined in one powerful package.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

Why Leaf Blowers Should Be Banned

Yesterday, while raking leaves, we heard from our next door neighbor that they were moving.

Great, I thought. Not because we don’t like them – far from it, they’re a nice family. Why my reaction then. Come March, they were planning on starting a large remodel and addition to their home.

My studio would have been facing the whole thing. Seeing and hearing the noise in progress. So I was happy about the news. It meant no noise aggravation – at least for now.

After telling us the news, the same neighbor brought out his leaf blower.

We had just finished raking leaves. Being bombarded with leaf blower noise felt pretty unnatural after our quiet and fun family activity. Our neighbor’s 3 year old son wasn’t using a rake to help either. Not like our daughter Clara who raked and swept with us for hours, in between jumping into the leaf piles of course.

Wonder if our neighbor’s taking time to smell the scent of autumn leaves. Not sure how enjoyable it would be with all that noise though.

Believe me, I’m not against technological advances. Only against those things that affect others adversely. Gardeners happen to own a lot of those smelly, loud devices.

Maybe I should be investing in earplugs.

I ended up putting on some earphones and playing some of the music on The Secret Power of Words and Music CDs.

Figured – if you can’t beat them, drown them out. With beautiful, calm, positive music. Sounds that make you happy. And quiet you down. Sounds of rejuvenation. Get yours here at here now.

A Tale of Two Minds

When we took Clara out trick-or-treating on Halloween, we were the ones who got treated.

This year, we met up with three other 4 year-old girls and their parents. As soon as we hit the pavement the other 3 began running to the first available front door.

Pretty soon we noticed Clara wasn’t too interested in getting candy. She was too mesmerized by the spider webs and other spooky decorations. We were surprised that she didn’t go up to the front doors, unless we asked her too. Instead she wanted to talk about the amazing visual displays.

At one point Clara was given two large Reese’s cups and wanted to give one back.

The guy said, ‘No, sweetie, you can have both.’

‘But I only want one,’ she replied trying to put one back in the candy bowl. She finally succeeded. The guy just laughed.

Her favorite treat that evening turned out to be a colorful pencil.

Pretty soon, we got separated from the other girls who were darting from house to house like bees to honey. After a few homes I asked her if she wanted to get more treats. She answered, ‘No, I have them all.’

Due to her immersion in all the decorations, our pace was quite slow. And that turned out to be our big treat that night.

Seeing Clara’s keen observation in her environment got us tuned into the evening’s festivities in a joyful, relaxed way. Like one of those moments in time where the humor of it all is revealed in an instant.

You’re connection to your environment can be greatly enhanced when you feel relaxed. It’s been said that the relaxed mind is the only mind that functions optimally.

Clear your head of cobwebs by turning on the sounds in The Secret Power of Words and Music CDs. It’s never been easier check out of stress and check into rejuvenation.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Clara didn’t ask for her Halloween treats. She’s never had candy and wouldn’t know an M&M from a sucker anyway. Health is a collection of decisions you make every day. Why not decide to melt down the level of stress in your life with positive, high frequency sounds.
