7 Tips to Optimum Brain Health

I’ve never seen a brain, but med students will tell you it looks just like another organ. And, just like any other piece of meat, its health depends on your blood circulation.

Your brain needs to assimilate nutrition and eliminate waste. Or else you have yourself a constipated brain.

Backing up sludge, goo, toxins or what you prefer to call it, is never a good idea. A congested brain can cause 1000 diseases including Alzheimer’s, paralysis, eye and hearing disorders, senility and depression.

Think of your body as a car. If you put bad gas in your car is won’t run very well and eventually break down. In the exact same way, poor nutrition and dirty blood mean brain dis-function.

And we’ve just been talking about the physical stuff. Add the sounds and words you listen to on a daily basis and you’ve got yourself a ton of influences on how you’re going to feel.

What your well-being comes down to, literally, is what you choose to put into your brain. Whether it enters through you mouth, your skin, your eyes or your ears – don’t matter – it’s feeding your brain.

The equivalent of ‘fast food’ for your brain are - most TV, most radio, all pre-packaged food, non-supportive friends and family, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, too little H2o, and a bad attitude.

Now take a 180 degree turn on those categories and give your brain the following healthy nutrients.

1. Books, videos and music that uplift and inspire
2. Fresh, organic homemade food
3. Supportive, positive friends
4. Exercise, outdoors if possible
5. Sleeep
6. Lots of clean, pristine, filtered water
7. A ‘my glass is half-full and I’m thrilled to be alive’ attitude

Got those and you’ll feel like a million bucks. Stay tuned because you’ll be hearing about something special regarding point No. 2 – it’s still under wraps – but keep your appetite and eyes peeled.

To get you in the best possible attitude immediately check out the positive, uplifting sounds in the The Secret Power of Words and Music 5 CD package now

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Speaking of Alzheimer’s, the number of people who will get it in the next 50 years is expected to triple. If you’re a baby boomer, instead of picking your nursing home, simplify and rejuvenate your life using the 7 tips. Get a hold of these CDs to keep you motivated and relaxed.

Eating Up Quality Time

Eating Up Quality Time

Hi <$firstname$>,
While driving I had the radio tuned to an interview. An architect was giving his views on trophy kitchens and formal dining rooms - so popular in new homes and remodels today.

Why trophy. Because these high-end-everything mega kitchens aren’t much in use. Hardly ever, actually. Except for irradiating ready-made meals in the microwave.

He went on to say that more than half of Americans eat out most of the time. Meaning they go to a restaurant to get their daily meals. Almost all the time.

In addition, 75 percent of Americans get most of their meals prepared – Chinese takeout, Pizza deliveries, grocery deli, local delivery service - you name it. So, if you’re not eating out, you’re eating food that was made by someone else.

That’s a lot of people who aren’t using cutting boards and knives.

Makes Clayton and me look positively primitive - with our organic garden and trips to the local farmers markets. We’re even putting in cold frames for the winter. You probably don’t have the faintest idea of what I’m talking about. Simple cold frames allow you to grow lettuces, carrots and other veggies in the cold of winter. At any latitude. That’s what fresh food is – picked and eaten within minutes.

Makes me wonder about how we eat. And where.

I suspect it’s in front of the computer or teevee. Maybe while leafing through the latest magazine or newspaper. Ouch. I bet people aren’t eating in all those formal dining rooms. Maybe twice a year, according to this architect.

If you’re multitasking while eating, you might want to reconsider. Your quality of life could be affected.

An easy way to get into a tranquil, serene mood is by turning down the lights and lighting a couple of candles. Then switch on soothing music. While growing up, my father used to insist we eat dinner with candles and classical music.

I’ve found music to be the most immediate stress reducer, bar none. Indulge in the sounds that slow you down.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

Are Doctors Negligent

‘We are approaching the point where a doctor would legitimately be negligent not to actually recommend music as a therapeutic intervention.’

That’s what Professor Robertson from one of London’s largest hospitals has said.

The scientific evidence is growing by leaps and bonds - music helps physical changes which can help heal the body.

As the BBC reports, Professor Paul Robertson regularly plays violin for patients in various hospitals. He is a scientist as well as an accomplished musician. Now he’s not only carrying his violin everywhere. He’s also carrying out clinical trials to see exactly how music affects the brain and the body.

Robertson said: "We are approaching the point where a doctor would legitimately be negligent not to actually recommend music as a therapeutic intervention.

"What we are currently doing is building up the body of evidence so that we can say with clinical confidence that this is truly a beneficial intervention."

Don’t know about you, but those are pretty strong words. Said publicly. Doctor’s beware – don’t just send your patients to the local drugstore, but to the local Music store with a prescription for CDs that heal.

Or else you could be deemed as negligent.

Imagine the collaboration between art and science. It’s existed before – centuries ago - and will return with more power than ever. With studies upon studies to back up the effects of sound on our mind and body, we are entering a whole new era in health management.

One of our friends is a surgeon in Los Angeles. He’s studied the violin since he was ten and owns a Stradivarius and a Guaneri. He’s even been featured on the history channel. Dr. William Sloan will advise anyone to listen to the sounds of beautiful classical music as often as possible.

Embrace these discoveries now and be on the cutting edge of science - get your 5 CD collection.

You Are a Sound Generator

Yesterday while on the verge of falling asleep, I wondered whether there is ever an end to the sounds we hear.

Then I realized that we’re in surround sound from the time our hearing develops in utero.

It’s a good thing.

Because there is a rhythm to sound that keeps you grounded and sane. In fact, your breathing and heart-beat turn you into a musical instrument.

Instruments are tuned before they are played. Every time. There are no exceptions to this rule. No doubt you’ve been exposed to out of tune playing or singing. The cringe factor goes way up in an instant. Only option is to get out fast. It can drive some insane.

Really though, you’re most exposed to the sounds your own mind makes. Your daily sound palate is comprised not only what you hear, but what choose to think about.

The colors you choose with your thoughts make up the palette of your life.

Color those thoughts any way you like.

But why not make the choice to saturate your life with enriching, vividly beautiful, uplifting sounds. Music that keeps you feeling in-tune. You’ve got nothing to loose – and so much to gain.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. The global research is in tune when it comes to testing the power of high frequency sounds. This stuff is really good for you. Stay in tune all day by adding these colors to your palate.

Entertain This Thought

With the twilight of 2006 upon us, most people won’t be thinking about moving in the next couple of months.

But I bet some of you are at least entertaining the thought for sometime next year. Clayton and I considered moving for quite a while before setting the wheels in motion.

I would venture to say, we sat on our backsides a little too long. Better late than never.

That’s where The Ultimate Guide to Stress Free Moving comes in so handy. You might be thinking this guide is a long to-do list. Yes – you’ll get check-lists at end of the manual. Probably the most detailed tally of what-to-do on the planet.

But you receive so much more.

Smelling when you should move on, move out or move up and tasting those imaginary morsels in your mind – that’s where your initial energy and drive originates.

I realize not everyone needs to physically relocate to generate that joie de vive. Many could though. I heartily recommend entertaining the thought.

If nothing else, it’s fun to imagine the life you’ve dreamed of for yourself and your loved ones. And this package gives you the tools to do just that.

Test your desire for positive change. Entertaining the thought of moving has never been more relaxing.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Benjamin Franklin said it perfectly. ‘When you're finished changing, you're finished.’ Clear out the old and bring on the new. Right now.

A Rare Opportunity

Yesterday morning Delta Airlines called to let my husband Clayton know his flight would leave 45 minutes late.

Great. Gives us more time together. Keeps us from rushing to get last minute details in order.

Then … 40 minutes before we were due to leave for the airport Delta calls again.

The flight was leaving on time after all. He had 65 minutes.

Clayton, who was practicing his violin, made a mad dash to get his clothes into the suitcase. This will stand in our record books as his fastest pack ever.

Thankfully Clayton caught his flight. I was left a little winded and got a big dose of a reminder about stress.

Then I turned on the new ‘Total Relaxation’ music CD. Wow – I immediately calmed down. My mind cleared the debris left over from fighting the clock. My pulse slowed down to below 60 beats per minute. I was thrilled to put the music to a REAL test.

Good thing. Because I composed the ‘Total Relaxation’ CD for those times when stress reaches high levels.

Do you remember when you last moved. No matter whether you relocated locally, cross-country or overseas – moving is usually a stress-buster. I know. We moved 5 times in less than 3 years. These were big moves, risky moves.

Read about your opportunity to remain relaxed during big transitions.

Go take a look now.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. For those times when you’re going through change – to a new location, a more fulfilling job, a better life - the Stress Free Moving package will calm you down from start to finish.

How Happiness Is Measured

‘My son had ADD during class today,’ a mom apologized to the gymnastics teacher. The same mom took her son out for a happy meal at Mickey Dee’s a few minutes later.

Talk about clueless.

Food, glorious food. Wonder what sugar and caffeine additives her son ate that morning gaving him ADD-like symptoms in the first place.

Noticing all the junkfood being sold at this gymnastics club I asked the teacher about it. There wasn’t a single healthy snack in sight. Just soft drinks and sugar loaded candy.

‘Yeah,’ Monica answered. The owners hadn’t planned to sell this stuff, but the kids’ parents demanded it. You know, they’re addicted to it. I wouldn’t have agreed to it.’

She added, ‘I have this class of really talented 3-5 year-olds. It’s two hours long instead of 45 minutes, and so we take a break for snack. You wouldn’t believe what parents give their kids to eat.’

‘M&m’s,’ she said shaking her head.

‘So I asked if I could bring snack for them, and the parent’s didn’t agree. It’s really shocking.’

So here we are. In a country where many parents take their kids to fast food restaurants and serve them M&m’s for snack.

Got me thinking about the value of good health.

Your happiness depends on your level of health. And your health depends on your level of happiness. And one of the most potent, natural ingredients for both health and happiness is positive, high frequency music. Listen and benefit from these soothing sounds at soothing sounds - it’s easy, effortless and immediate.

Diss the junk and take in the music now.

Warm Regards,

P.S. Another big ingredient is exercise. That’s why getting kids addicted to junk-food is a huge health hazard. Get off the sugar and caffeine fix and on the rejuvenation diet now.

Get Into The Rhythm

We finally found a new person to help us out with Clara. One thing they immediately bonded on was being in sync.

Using rhythm.

They’d make up a simple sing-song about something or another and march or play while chanting it over and over again.

Clara’s anxiety during our search for someone to help out was quickly soothed with the power of rhythmic play. It’s no wonder. Rhythm is one of the keys to a healthy life. In more ways than one.

Athletes and people who have a daily workout routine talk about getting into a certain rhythm. A great day has a certain rhythm to it. Pacing, breathing and feeling the beat of our day puts us in touch with the natural pulse of life.

Even if interruptions occur, you can step out of your dance for a moment, and continue as soon as there is an opportunity. Because rhythm is order. And order gives us stability and confidence.

For example, Clara got the news that Mary wasn’t coming in, was momentarily distraught, and then changed gears when she understood it was just for a day.

Here’s another thing. Rhythm affects your whole brain. Whereas vision is located in one part of the brain, speech in another, music uses the brain globally. So that anything musical can reach the brain through different pathways.

Everyone yearns for the structure rhythm provides. The reason is rhythm helps us organize our reality.

Your heart is a rhythm-organ. It acts as a health monitor when you take your pulse after simple or invigorating exercises. Getting into a rhythmic flow - whether it’s your daily rhythm or by getting into a flow with high frequency music - makes you feel good, whole and healthy.

Enjoy the pulse of a healthy life now.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. One reason pop/rock/blues/rap/dance music is so pop-ular, is that people crave rhythm. Xcept some rhythm isn’t so good for that heart of yours. Like sugar and junk food, listen in low doses and rest up again with the good pulsing sounds.

Confessions of a Cowboy

Ran into a real-life honest to goodness cowboy last Saturday.

It was our daughter Clara, a lover of all things horse-related, who pulled us to the corral. We were visiting a month-long harvest festival at the Biltmore Estate here in Western North Carolina.

This cowboy and his horse sent chills down our spine. His stories about how people should treat horses could have applied to life in general.

To put it in a nutshell, he said ‘listen to the horse, not command them. Be a leader, not a dictator.’

Then he explained that ‘it all comes from the inside’ pointing to his heart. With the smallest of gestures he demonstrated how he and his horse communicated. It was like watching an elegant dance between horse and leader.

He awed every one of us again by making the very same gestures and sounds with NO intent behind them – and the horse didn’t move. Not one little bit.

This demonstration of the difference between what you say and what you mean when you say it was incredible.

People often aren’t conscious when they speak – or think, for that matter. By conscious, I mean fully invested, passionate, looking you straight in the eye. The feeling of instant connectedness. Young kids pick up on this pretty darn fast. So do animals. They’re not oblivious to the fine art of perceiving others true state of mind.

Cowboy Bill Scott understands the simple energy of life so well, he raised his own twin infant sons by himself, after their mother left them. They’re twenty now, and, according to their dad, wonderful young men.

This cowboy knows about energy. His command and gentleness were truly inspiring. In talking with him afterwards, we agreed that everything you do comes down to your current state of mind.

That’s where high frequency, positive sounds are so helpful.

You too can remain calm, relaxed and alert when you listen to the sounds in The Secret Power of Words and Music CDs. Make that mind, heart and body the easy way.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Cowboy Bill Scott is called a Natural Horsemanship Clinician. If you have a horse you might want to check into his clinics. There are troubled horses just like troubled people. In fact, according to Bill, horses won’t let troubled people pet them. It all comes down to how you really feel inside. Get the CDs that gently melt away you’re your mental stress now.

Why Freud Was Wrong

I’m not a big fan of psychoanalysis. The main reason is that most psychology and psychiatry doesn’t focus on what’s positive.

Rather, it quite often reinforces the negative.

How on earth can that create a positive change? Beats me. Even worse, this kind of approach creates dependency. It’s one thing to release and let go of the past. But go back an relive it - just doesn’t make sense. Regurgitating the negative will never change you into a happy, healthy person.

Imagine having a session with a professional. She asks you to talk about your life. You notice her taking notes. When you finish you’re pleasantly surprised. In fact you’re thrilled.

Here’s why.

Instead of her re-hashing the stuff that’s painful to you, she only wants to talk about those experiences and events that were rewarding, exciting and fulfilling. She completely ignores all the stuff you’d rather not revisit anyway. All she wants to focus on are the positive experiences you’ve had so far.

That’s what I call activating your joyful future.

Joy is never emerges from a recipe of depressed, despondent, sorrowful ingredients.

It’s really quite simple. Though we’ve complicated things immensely. To be perfectly blunt, focusing on what you perceive to be your limitations is a kind of self-imposed hell.

A conscious mind won’t wallow in self-pity. It will transform you into a responsible, creative person. Someone who is both focused and totally relaxed. A person who is both kind and courageous.

Remember all the fulfilling, successful events in your life. Do this while listening to wholesome, good, positive music. You’ve just created an incredibly potent recipe for joy and success.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. For all you Freudian followers, imagine for a moment pointing the arrow towards a goal that makes you feel so wonderful - you can’t help but smile. It’s the secret all happy, healthy people can vouch for.

Forbidden Music

I’m listening to one of the most beautiful pieces of music. It was composed back in the 1630’s for use in the Sistine Chapel.

Allegri’s ‘Miserere’ for a capella choir – or choir without other instruments – has an intriguing story behind it.

At some point for some unknown reason it became forbidden to transcribe the music. No one was allowed to write down the notes after hearing it. Plus, the music was only allowed to be performed during matins on Wednesday and Friday of Holy Week. Why this happened is still a mystery.

Yet it explains how the power of music was utilized hundreds of years ago.

Then a genius arrived at the Sistine Chapel.

14-year-old Mozart was visiting Rome, when he first heard the piece during the Wednesday service. Later that day, he wrote it down entirely from memory. Then he returned with it to the Sistine Chapel that Friday to make some minor corrections. Later, during his travels, he ran into the British historian Dr. Charles Burney, who obtained the score from him and took it to London, where it was published in 1771.

Once it was published, the ban was lifted, and Allegri's ‘Miserere’ has since been one of the most popular choral works now performed.

Bans on music have existed for centuries. Like the pope banning modern music, i.e. electric guitars and drumsets a few months ago.

Did you know that the President of Turkmenistan, a former Soviet Republic, has banned all recorded music at public events, on teevee and in weddings. He’s already banned opera and ballet. And, believe it or not, he’s banned car radios. To no one’s surprise, Mr. Niyazov has declared himself president for life.

In the year 2000, police in New Iberia, Louisiana, closed down a roller skating rink and seized more than 60 CDs, after a fight broke out in the rink's parking lot. Police accused the rink's management of instigating the incident by playing music over the rink's PA system.

Among the music they confiscated were CDs by Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and popular tunes ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’ and ‘Jingle Bells.’ Figure that one out.

There are no foreseeable plans to ban high frequency, classical music anytime soon. Unless you live in Turkmenistan or Iran. Your unlimited dose of beauty is available here now.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Immerse yourself in sounds that take you beyond the mundane – into a space where peace permeates your cells. Where you come out feeling total rejuvenation.

How Stores Are Robbing You

Warning – many stores are robbing you without you even knowing it.

Next time you walk into a store that’s playing classical music, hold onto your credit card. There’s a good reason why you’re being exposed to relaxing music. Because classical music increases spending.

All sorts of stores are jumping on the classical music bandwagon.

But few have perfected selling you their products as well as the giant supermarket chains. One statistic really says it all -

‘Supermarkets are places of high impulse buying for both sexes - fully 60 to 70 percent of purchases there were unplanned, grocery industry studies have shown us,’ according to Paco Underhill in Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping.

Here’s a hint. Notice how shopping carts are super-sized compared to a couple of decades ago. The bigger the shopping cart, the less it seems you are buying.

What puts the icing on the cake is piping classical music through supermarket store speakers. It’s a key tool to get you to buy more.

“Music can help shape customers' time perception, lower sales resistance and increase willingness to spend,”says James Kellaris, a marketing professor at the University of Cincinnati.

Classical music relaxes you to the point where time stands still. It makes you feel like you’ve been in the store for less time than you actually have.

It’s the very same reason classical music helps you to focus and be creative. When time stands still – anything goes. You’re in the zone. And there’s nothing quite like it.

Music that can get you into that state is priceless.

Get your copy of priceless sounds now and never miss a beat again.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Supermarkets also understand the power of smell. That’s why the bakery is often situated near the most popular entrance. The scent of baked goods makes people very hungry. Add relaxing music to the mix and watch time stand still as your appetite increases even more. Get that timeless feeling – without the calories – now.

How We’re Dumbing Ourselves Down

Came across some scary news today.

In the past two years teevee sets now outnumber people in the average American home.

50% of U.S. homes have 3 sets or more. If you’ve got a family with two kids, you probably own at least five teevees. Your children may even have a set in their bedroom.

We know a family who’s 4-year-old has had a teevee in her bedroom before she could even walk.

What do all these extra sets mean. You guessed it, more teevee watching. Hold onto your seats, because the average number of hours a person stares at the tube has gone up.

The large Neilson study reports that the average person watches four hours 35 minutes of television each day - a new high.

Oops, I almost forgot. Those hours don’t account for how long sets are actually ON for all day. In the average American home the television set is turned on for eight hours 14 minutes a day.

That’s totally insane.

Talk about complicating your life. Sounds wafting from TV sets are dumbing down brain cells, making you more tired as well as keeping you from relaxing without distraction. Their cumulative effect is destructive to your overall health.

Tuning out of life is not relaxing. It’s exhausting. And that’s what most teevee watching is – tuning out. Using teevee babble as background noise isn’t much better. We’ve got enough distractions. Why add what’s coming out of your teevee to the mix.

Substitute those unhealthy sounds with positive, health enhancing ones - positive, health enhancing ones - and enjoy your newfound energy and peace of mind.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. In 1975, 57 percent of American homes had only a single set. Not to mention how few channels there were at that time. Imagine being creative with your time instead of staring at a teevee. It’s the best medicine for happiness there is – creating a glorious life for yourself. Don’t spend your life watching the world pass you by.

Forget This And Focus

Athletes know a thing or two about passion and dedication.

Olympic Champion Scott Hamilton says ‘the only disability in life is having a bad attitude.’ This is coming from a guy who stopped growing at age 4. Finally at age 10 his health improved and the rest, as we say, is history. Even a recent bout with cancer hasn’t dampened his good spirits.

Reminds about the story of the bumble bee.

Did you know that the law of aerodynamics says a bumble bee shouldn’t be able to fly.

Except someone forgot to tell the bee.

Since the bee wasn’t held back by someone else’s law, it had no idea what its limits where ‘supposed’ to be. It went about its business and started flying.

Hold that thought because the same goes for you. You’ll only want to pay attention to those ideas that keep you on target for a happy, healthy life.

Place your total trust and focus into living such a life. I know, focus can be a hard thing to come by in our fast-paced lives.

Thankfully you can get yourself into a totally focused frame of mind by listening to high frequency, positive sounds. They’ll give you strength. They’ll slooow down your heart beat. They’ll lighten up your attitude. In fact, you’ll feel lit up from the inside out.

It’s never been easier to recharge. Go and recharge now.

Warm Regards,

P.S. There’s a totally crazy belief out there that you’re disempowered. Thankfully, it’s only a belief. Don’t let others run your life. Stop believing all negative garbage and you’ll start feeling like a million bucks.

Light A Fire Within

Had a great conversation with my sister who lives in Germany. She’s been juggling running two businesses recently.

Jetting around to Berlin and London. Feeling stressed and somewhat overwhelmed.

She told me how her boyfriend came up with a great symbol to help her focus and keep her from scattering her energy in too many different directions.

He gave her a magnifying glass.

She uses it to envision magnifying one task or goal and – this is the key – holding the magnifying glass on the goal long enough for that little point of light to ignite into a flame. I love that metaphor of holding an idea like a laser-beam of focus until it lights up and takes on a life of its own.

Reminds me of those projects I began and never finished. Or ones that I finished but didn’t capitalize on. It can be easy to get distracted and loose focus. Funny thing is, though it’s easy, living that way is hard.

A major conflict erupts in your mind. It goes something like this.

‘You’ve got to finish that project.’

‘But I have sooo many other things piled up.’

‘All that time you put into this project – don’t waste it.’

‘I’ll get back to it later.’

‘…fat chance…’

My brain has fought that battle. Still does at times. Though I usually catch the distraction before it burns my original goal to cinders.

When you turn that runaway train around, the rest is history. Guilt dissipates. That’s the power of magnification.

What’s your first step? Relaxation. Without it, distractions keep your focus at bay. With it, you’re in the focus business. So go now and get the music that relaxes you into a powerful mindset.

Warm Regards,

P.S. Take a break from keeping yourself busy all day. Recuperate and tap into joy.
