Alpha is Better than Beta

Imagine you’re asleep. Your mind is deep in delta recuperating from the day.

You’re relaxed and have put down your guard. In this state, you dream, play with ideas, digest information and create new options with total freedom.

Then, suddenly, the alarm clock goes off. You lurch forward, heart racing. Your adrenaline goes into overdrive. Your blood pressure soars. In seconds you are totally awake and hurtling your mind and body into a new day. You are now in a Beta state of mind.

But how to adjust to this sudden change?

Coffee, most likely. As you gulp your cup of joe and add something sweet to eat, you expound the caffeine fix with a sugar fix. Soon you feel all pumped up.

But what’s really going on. Your entire body, mind and spirit are under major stress.

In reality, you are distressed. This is what it’s like to be in a Beta state of mind. In beta you can handle the fast-pace impact of daily life. You remain in this state for up to 18 hours. Then you collapse back into bed without even a moment of real relaxation.

Guess what happens over time as you repeat this behavior day after day.

Your health is adversely affected. Over time this shocking transition from deeply relaxed delta to instant beta isn’t recommended. Especially on a daily basis.

For instance – your cells and your sleep are not as restorative. Your immune system is prone to more viruses, like the cold and flu, as well as allergies. Plus you may develop blood pressure problems by being in an ongoing beta state.

Since your mind really never rests in beta, you’re usually tired, feel worn out and far less likely to make good decisions concerning your life.

There is a way out of beta, and it’s called the alpha state. Alpha is your peaceful home. Unlike delta, which only occurs in deep sleep, alpha can be accessed quickly while you are fully conscious. It will always give you relief from stress.

In alpha you are at your most productive. Great artists, athletes, mystics and scientists get their ideas while in the alpha state.

All creativity happens in an alpha state where mind and heart communicating with each other. While in alpha you are flexible, and remain calm and open even while facing tough decisions. Time stands still, while ideas flow easily. You’re in the flow.

How do we harness the alpha state? One of the fastest and easiest ways is by listening to positively charged music where you don’t have exert any effort or ‘try’ to leave beta for alpha. In fact, the less you work at it, the faster you’ll reach it.

Music is the bridge to reaching the alpha state quickly. Add deep breathing to the equation and you reach the peaceful haven called alpha in seconds.
