How Commercials Make You Fat

McDonald’s knows how to influence people’s taste buds.

And they do it in a very shrewd way. Especially when it comes to minorities. For example, in their TV ads aimed at African Americans, the black consumers tend to be stylish and use hip contemporary language and music.

The music is key to getting the viewers’ tastebuds and braincells aligned so they get up from their couch and head over to Mickey Dee’s for lunch.

According to recent research those ads don’t feature salads, but Quarter Pounders with Cheese, Big Macs and Fries.

The ads, of course, look and sound very cool. You get the feeling you’ve won the social and fun lottery if you go partake in the fast food. And as with many lottery winners, the prize and initial excitement eventually disappear.

In its stead we get obesity and diabetes and a host of other diseases.

Fast food ads won’t ever reveal what happens to someone in their 40’s when their cholesterol has shot through the roof and their heart has to work miracles to pump blood.

Pumped-up music coupled with enticing visuals works like magic. Your mind isn’t ever aware it’s being hardwired for what’s being sold.

Thankfully, there IS an antidote to being brainwashed.

If you want to stay in full control of your mental faculties and daily decisions – take a high frequency music break.

It doesn’t take long to get a healthy fix. Just a few minutes will do the trick and bring your brain cells back to a lively, healthy state.
