Hawaii on My Mind
About 75 percent of people in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea and the United Kingdom say they experience stress every day. This according to a recent AP-Ipsos poll.
And those feelings of anxiety are even more intense during the holidays.
There’s one state, however, that defies expectation. I just read that Hawaii had the longest lived people in the United States. Typically Hawaiians live to be over 80.
Had to ponder that one, because I’ve been to Hawaii several times and noticed that along with the fruit, islanders also favor fast, fatty and sugary foods. Their diet seemed far from healthy to me. So, I was AT FIRST surprised to see it rank highest in longevity.
Then it dawned on me. You could call it an A-ha moment.
Why do I love Hawaii so much. Simple – it’s so relaxing and there’s plenty of sun. Those two factors alone are incredibly powerful. Fact is, relaxation and sun help overcome islanders’ poor dietary habits. Imagine how long they’d live with plenty of exercise and a good diet.
Lack of sun makes you prone to getting sick according to the latest research from Harvard. It prevents your body from making the most important thing it needs to keep the flu and cold at bay – vitamin D.
Coupled with stress – well, let’s just say that stress is a killer. Stress turns us into simmering, steaming volcanoes ready to erupt at any moment. It boils our blood and kills our immune boosting cells. And Hawaiians have the antidote to stress – relaxation – down to a science.
So really, I’m completely convinced Hawaiians have the upper hand when it comes to healthy longevity. Sun and Relaxation win every time.
Why not take your health into your own hands. Even if you don’t live in Hawaii you can indulge yourself in the ultimate stress reducer – the music in the Sounds of Gold package.
Listen to the magic of high frequency melodies and join Hawaiians in what they do best – Relax.
Warm Regards,
