Light A Fire Within

Had a great conversation with my sister who lives in Germany. She’s been juggling running two businesses recently.

Jetting around to Berlin and London. Feeling stressed and somewhat overwhelmed.

She told me how her boyfriend came up with a great symbol to help her focus and keep her from scattering her energy in too many different directions.

He gave her a magnifying glass.

She uses it to envision magnifying one task or goal and – this is the key – holding the magnifying glass on the goal long enough for that little point of light to ignite into a flame. I love that metaphor of holding an idea like a laser-beam of focus until it lights up and takes on a life of its own.

Reminds me of those projects I began and never finished. Or ones that I finished but didn’t capitalize on. It can be easy to get distracted and loose focus. Funny thing is, though it’s easy, living that way is hard.

A major conflict erupts in your mind. It goes something like this.

‘You’ve got to finish that project.’

‘But I have sooo many other things piled up.’

‘All that time you put into this project – don’t waste it.’

‘I’ll get back to it later.’

‘…fat chance…’

My brain has fought that battle. Still does at times. Though I usually catch the distraction before it burns my original goal to cinders.

When you turn that runaway train around, the rest is history. Guilt dissipates. That’s the power of magnification.

What’s your first step? Relaxation. Without it, distractions keep your focus at bay. With it, you’re in the focus business. So go now and get the music that relaxes you into a powerful mindset.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Take a break from keeping yourself busy all day. Recuperate and tap into joy.
