Are Doctors Negligent

‘We are approaching the point where a doctor would legitimately be negligent not to actually recommend music as a therapeutic intervention.’

That’s what Professor Robertson from one of London’s largest hospitals has said.

The scientific evidence is growing by leaps and bonds - music helps physical changes which can help heal the body.

As the BBC reports, Professor Paul Robertson regularly plays violin for patients in various hospitals. He is a scientist as well as an accomplished musician. Now he’s not only carrying his violin everywhere. He’s also carrying out clinical trials to see exactly how music affects the brain and the body.

Robertson said: "We are approaching the point where a doctor would legitimately be negligent not to actually recommend music as a therapeutic intervention.

"What we are currently doing is building up the body of evidence so that we can say with clinical confidence that this is truly a beneficial intervention."

Don’t know about you, but those are pretty strong words. Said publicly. Doctor’s beware – don’t just send your patients to the local drugstore, but to the local Music store with a prescription for CDs that heal.

Or else you could be deemed as negligent.

Imagine the collaboration between art and science. It’s existed before – centuries ago - and will return with more power than ever. With studies upon studies to back up the effects of sound on our mind and body, we are entering a whole new era in health management.

One of our friends is a surgeon in Los Angeles. He’s studied the violin since he was ten and owns a Stradivarius and a Guaneri. He’s even been featured on the history channel. Dr. William Sloan will advise anyone to listen to the sounds of beautiful classical music as often as possible.

Warm Regards,
