How To Sustain Your Heart

Musician Milford Graves knows about rhythm - he was a New York based jazz drummer in the 1960’s and ‘70’s. He’s still a musician, except now he spends much of his time discovering how much music can help heal the human heart.

In fact, many doctors are saying that the research Graves is doing in his Queens basement is just as significant as work done in medical laboratories.

Here’s why. Graves listens to people’s heart rhythms using a whole range of tools, including a custom-built stethoscope and sensors. These pick up electrical impulses that cause the heart to beat. Then his computer gathers and sorts all the data, so that Graves can focus on the tiniest of rhythms, called micro-rhythms, within One single heart beat.

He says that a heart that’s healthy, just like a good jazz drummer – emphasizes triplets. That’s when you count 1-2-3, 1-2-3. It does Not emphasize eighth notes – 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4. Having been a lover of triplets all my life, I find this news very exciting.

So if Graves thinks something’s wrong, he’ll actually manipulate the sound by speeding it up or slowing it down on his computer. Then he uses this counter-rhythm to try to nudge the heart back toward a normal pattern. After that, the manipulated sounds are put back into the volunteer’s body, either through acupuncture needles or through audible sounds.

Dr. Baruch Krauss from Harvard Medical School says what Graves is doing is not much different from what emergency doctors try to do for patients who come in with an abnormal heartbeat. Krauss calls Graves’ work “exciting, extremely original and innovative.”

What’s very clear is that sound affects your heart’s health. Whether you’re aware of it or not. And most aren’t.

Since your heart IS a musical instrument, it resonates with any and every sound your exposed to. Imagine that. It takes on the flavor, color, and speed of each negative or positive audible and inaudible sound.

This is huge.

Give your heart – and mind – some much needed R&R by creating a daily space for positively charged, high frequency sounds. Counteract the noise pollution that’s part of 21st century living.

Invest in the positive sound program that’s shipping throughout the world. The Secret Power of Words and Music is a not-to-be-missed 5 CD package. You’ll be oh so pleasantly surprised at how good you really can feel.

Warm Regards,
