My Music Picks

Many of you have asked me to recommend more high frequency music selections. So I’ve decided to share with you the short list of some of my all time favorites.

1.You’ll recognize the name Edward Elgar if you’ve ever performed the Pomp and Circumstance march at your high school’s graduation. Elgar wrote some beautiful music, including ‘Sospiri’, an out-of-this world blissful piece, that promises instant inspiration.

2. Sibelius composed an absolutely gorgeous work, ‘The Swan of Tuonela’ right before the outbreak of WWII. I recommend Leopold Stokowski’s recording called ‘Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Liszt’.

3. Massenet’s ‘Meditation on Thaïs’ is one of the great classics of violin repertoire. Check out this recording by one of my favorite musicians, Maxim Vengerov called ‘Vengerov & Virtuosi’.

4. These next two recordings feature musicians you’ll also hear on ‘The Secret Power of Words and Music’ CDs - http://www.artabundance.com/secretpower.htm - namely, the great oboist Allan Vogel and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. The CDs are ‘Baby Needs Bach’ and ‘Baby Needs Music’.

Don’t let those titles scare you. Both CDs have a beautiful selection of music including Chopin’s Berceuse, the sublime slow movement from Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 21, Pachelbel’s Canon – in an arrangement for four guitars – and Brahms’ beloved Lullaby for orchestra.

5. When Grammy-Award winner Allan Vogel commissioned me to
write a piece featuring him and violinist Clayton Haslop, I jumped
at the chance. Principal keyboardist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Joanne Pearce Martin, joined these two world-class musicians and the beautiful result is 'Four Illuminations' featured on The Secret Power of Words and Music 5 CD package.

Happy Listening,
Tania Gabrielle French

P.S. Use any of these selections as background music while you’re creating or working out. Experience the joy that’s generated when your spine is tingled with high frequency music.
