What Napoleon Said
What Napoleon Said
Yesterday we visited Italy and today we’re going on a worldwide tour, beginning in France.
Napoleon was revered for his leadership. And leaders always have secrets. Occasionally they divulge them. Napoleon did as well. You’ll be surprised to know that Napoleon understood the enormous power of music. This is how he summed it up -
‘Give me control over he who shapes the music of a nation, and I care not who makes the laws.’
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Napoleon grasped the subconscious effect that certain music has on people’s behavior and thinking.
Here’s another angle on music’s incredible power to mold the mind and body. Maybe you studied music as a youngster – or have kids who are music students. If so, you’ll be happy to know that high school students who study music have higher grade point averages. They also develop faster physically. Their listening skills are greater.
Fact is that the top three schools in America all place a Big emphasis on music and the arts.
Which are the top three academic countries in the world - Hungary, Japan, and the Netherlands. What do they all have in common. Extensive music and art instruction.
This all ties into one thing – our creative imagination. Our brain is tickled when we explore all the nuances of sound by creating music. Especially classical music - the overwhelming choice for expanding your brain’s capacity.
Most of the world’s top engineers and scientists are amateur musicians or studied music as youngsters. Either way, they know their clarity of focus expands exponentially while listening to positively charged music.
Napoleon knew what science has now proven. Music’s power to persuade, to transform, to help you change gears, to uplift – is undeniable.
Eventually the whole world will be in on the secret.
You’re a few steps ahead. That’s a good place to be. So keep walking and listening.
Warm Regards,
