Don’t Try This

Ever try to hardboil an egg at a hard rock concert. No kidding.

Bob Larson, a Christian minister and former rock musician, remembers teens from the ‘70s who did this. They would bring raw eggs to a rock concert and put them on the front of the stage. Before the end of the concert the eggs would be hard boiled by the music and could be eaten.

How did the music hard boil the eggs.

Well, eggs are mostly protein. And it’s been shown that proteins that are in a liquid become coagulated, in this case hard boiled, when they are subjected to piercing, high-pitched sounds.

Those high electric guitar riffs could be causing some other problems. When combined with the rhythms that make up most rock, pop and dance songs – it gets downright unhealthy.

The big problem is called ‘stopped anapestic rhythm’. You’ll recognize the pattern as ‘short-short-long-pause’. This rhythm became popular when rock and roll lost its roll and became known as rock in the 70’s. Most Beatles’ songs don’t have this rhythm. The groups that got it all started were Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Queen, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Bachman - Turner Overdrive, and The Band.

Here’s why this rhythm is so unhealthy.

It is the opposite of your body’s natural rhythm - your heartbeat. Thus it actually throws your heartbeat out of sync. This has been shown in lots of case studies, including the work of Australian MD Dr. John Diamond.

He discovered that, when you’re exposed to this beat for long periods, something called ‘switching’ occurs and the synchronization between the right and left hemispheres in your brain is destroyed. Yes, the brain literally gets a major hiccup. This causes confusion, irritability and stress resulting in lessened work performance, learning and behavior problems in children, and a ‘general malaise in adults.’

Because the brain controls the body, your whole body’s internal rhythm gets switched. It then starts craving the external stopped-anapestic rhythm to feel good. Like an addiction where we want something that’s not good for us in order to feel good.

So when you combine this harmful rhythm with the effects of shrill high pitched sounds, you’ve got yourself a recipe for despair.

Thankfully, most of us can avoid this music. To repair and heal your mind from previous exposure, listen to positively charged, beautiful music. Your brain needs to be nourished as much as your body does. Get your 5 CD packagenow and start your journey of radiant health.

P.S. The center of our life is rhythm - the breath - the heartbeat. The seasons also reflect this natural rhythm which is inherent in all living beings. Line up your internal rhythms the healthy way now.
