Are You Sabotaging Your Health
It’s no wonder the average American wakes up, gets caffeinated and slugs through the day until the next caffeine fix.
Last week a new report came out about the average amount of time Americans spend commuting every day. The implications are enormous. Especially when you start looking at monthly totals.
Americans spend, on average, 2 Hours a Day commuting to and from work.
That adds up to 10 Hours a Week and a whopping 42 Hours a Month. So, within a month, many people loose a week’s worth of their productive life.
Commuting is draining. You’re existing in a kind of no-mans land of non-productivity and stress. To make matters worse, you get onto your cellphone and drive like you’re legally drunk. Then you turn on the radio and kill more braincells with pounding, energy depleting low frequency music and news.
Yes, bad news deflates your life as much as anything. And news these days is mostly negative. It's very effective in making you feel ineffective. And listening to it day after day has a way of numbing your mind into a kind of stupor. On top of that, most news is punctuated by in-your-face commercials, another energy depleter.
Added together, radio is a life distractor gone haywire. No rewiring of your brain cells happening here.
Oops, I haven't even mentioned traffic. Did you know that sitting in traffic subconsciously makes you worry about getting there on time. Even if you don't have an appointed time you need to get somewhere. Even if you left home early. Worrying is natural when you feel stuck.
Our minds and bodies were not designed to sit in traffic. It may seem like second nature to a lot of people, but that’s only a sure sign that stress to them is considered normal.
The one good thing you can do while commuting is listen to motivational CDs, be they spoken or musical in nature. This will be time well spent. Because you’ll transmute all the negative byproducts of your commute by getting a rejuvenation fix.
The Secret Power of Words and Music 5 CD package will give you endless hours of uplifting listening. Whether you’re sitting on a train or bus or driving your car to work every day, you’ll arrive at your destination with a mind refreshed and a body relaxed.
Remember, good health is a reflection of how you feel inside and out. So take in the positive sounds and feel the force within you.
Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French
