Why Cindy Crawford Isn’t Your Average Model

Many models live very unhealthy lives. Cindy Crawford isn’t one of them. In fact, she’s a shining example of a life in balance.

I know first hand. Because Cindy and I shared an experience of courage. We gave birth at home. Using the same midwife.

It’s definitely not the status quo thing to do. A mother has to be in good shape and healthy in mind and body. We both knew as soon as we were pregnant that, barring unforeseen circumstances, we’d be safer and much happier in our own natural, germ-free, relaxing home environment.

Not only is Cindy healthy, she’s very bright.

Did you know she was valedictorian of her highschool class and had a 4.0 GPA? Did you know she won an academic scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University? She only attended for one quarter before pursuing her modeling career.

Lucky for us.

When I ran into Cindy and her kids at the pediatrician’s office I realized how balanced her life was. No make-up, smile on her face, courteous and loving – as naturally confident as it gets.

As you can tell, our kids also share the same pediatrician, Dr. Jay Gordon, whom we still use even after leaving L.A. two years ago. Dr. Jay has published many great books and is an ABC Good Morning America consultant. He’s one of the few pediatricians in the U.S. who counsels all parents about the dangerous side-effects of vaccines. If you live in a third world country, he believes, you need them. If not, don’t go near them. Of course, he leaves the decision up to the parents.

Back to Cindy.

She’s always worked out. This is what her personal trainer of 16 years, Valerie Waters, has to say about her:

“Cindy lives a life of balance that I have rarely seen in others, with consistency being the key to her success. Throughout Cindy's consistently busy and changing life, fitness has remained a constant. Because she’s living a balanced life, not only does she look great, but also feels great. She takes care of herself and makes her health and well-being a top priority.”

Notice the emphasis on consistency. Because Consistency is the one-ingredient-recipe for success. In anything. When you do a little more each day, you’re already well on your way towards living a successful life.

So, from now on, make the following a constant: Take daily time-outs to nurture your body, mind and spirit. Every day. If needed, nurture body one day, mind the next and spirit the next.

Take recharging to a new level by listening to the rejuvenating The Secret Power of Words and Music 5 CD set.

It’s a whole mind-body-spirit package.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French
