Throw Out the Can-Openers

World-renowned Maestro Daniel Barenboim, Music Director of Chicago Symphony, calls programmed, piped music “absolutely offensive.”

I call it music suffering from a hangover. We’ve all been exposed to canned music in airports, elevators, and grocery stores.

Muzak is mindless music. It’s supposed to relax you, but it puts me to sleep. Nothing is stimulated and revived. Instead your brain is musically drugged. Drug companies take note - Muzak could be a revolutionary sleep aid. Just find a way to bottle it.

Since ordinary life has never been noisier, I try to avoid places that want to drug me with sound – like malls.

Muzak’s piped into hotels, bars, restaurants, parks, beaches, doctor and hospital waiting areas, and on hospital wards. The purpose must be to drug the patients in every manner possible.

In my opinion, there’s already enough pill popping going on.

If you want relief then take note on what’s been known for millennia – The quality of your life is directly related to the state of your mind. If your mind-less, you can’t focus on what’s good for you. If your mind-ful you’re aware and open to ideas that could help you live a fulfilled life.

The Secret Power of Words and Music is such a mind-opener. This five CD package has already helped countless people relax and recharge their brains and body. Now it’s Your turn to indulge.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French
