The Sound of Nature’s Fury
After falling asleep to distant lightning and thunder, we were woken up by a loud roaring sound at 4am.
Never have I or my husband Clayton heard continuous, non-stop thunder like that before.
We opened our shades to watch the lightning spectacle. Then suddenly a shower burst with pelting hail pounded our roof. It truly was awe-inspiring.
Thunder is a low frequency noise. Tis why even the distant rumble of thunder can make you feel uneasy, even fearful.
As I was lying there in bed holding our daughter Clara until she fell back asleep, I thought about the emotional effect of nature’s fury. Way back when, this kind of sound and light spectacle would have been seen as ‘a message from God’. And I don’t mean a pretty card with a sweet note written inside of it.
No, this was a sure sign that all was not right. Our ancestor’s bad deeds must have caused God to vent his anger.

We all remember the big tsunami that was triggered by a 9.0 earthquake in the Indian Ocean.

Actually, animals don’t have a sixth sense like many believe. It’s just that they can hear very low frequencies. I know from experience that pet owners in Los Angeles will tell you that their pet acted strangely or disappeared Before an earthquake.
The animals that fled the tsunami would have heard/felt the earthquake and possibly heard or felt the tsunami many minutes or hours before it struck. It’s even possible they detected the earthquake (plates starting to shift) before the earthquake.
