The Barometer da Vinci Lived By

Did you know that your thoughts are completely influenced by what you see around you?

For example, if I see a piece of mail that hasn’t been read, paid or recycled, it distracts me. Even that small instance gets stored away and becomes a burden until I do something about it.

And so it goes with all unfinished business. I found that eliminating unpaid bills and clutter as soon as they arrive on my doorstep is one of the requirements for maintaining clarity and focus.

You can only relax and prosper when the energy around you is freed up.

Leonardo da Vinci puts it this way:

"The color of the object illuminated partakes of the color of that which illuminates it."

In other words, you are colored by what you see and hear.

Ask yourself, "who and what am I allowing to illuminate my mind?" Then check the barometer. Life-enhancing stays, negative and distracting goes. This exercise alone has helped me immensely.

What’s really interesting is, when you discern what’s helpful and what’s useless you eliminate duality from your life.

For example. Let’s say you’re torn between eating junkfood or a healthy meal - you’re in conflict, right. You haven’t made the decision to choose what’s good for you over what’s bad for you.

So there’s a struggle between good and bad going on inside your head. That’s living in duality. And it has a way of creeping into every little thing you do. It's also stressful and exhausting.

It's an interesting fact that conflict is eliminated through illumination.

Just like magic, you make a life-enhancing decision by looking it straight in the eye and voila - you stop being in conflict about it. Worries disappear. Guilt drops away. Excuses become extinct. Life feels good.

The result inevitably is – you have more energy to be happy and productive. More resolve to keep on doing things that are good for you. Like immersing your mind and body in the positive sounds of The Secret Power of Words and Music CDs.
