Sleeping Ignites Creativity
I am reading a great book. Its content keeps me wanting to read more, so I stayed up too late the other night.
Well, I felt it the next day. I was not very efficient. Plus, my brain cells would not ignite like I’m used to. My creativity was definitely dampened for the day.
Usually I am in bed by 9:30 at the latest and asleep by 10:00. I wake up refreshed after at least eight hours of sleep and feel invigorated all day. Now that I’ve reminded myself what it feels like to be a zombie, I have reclaimed this early-to-bed pattern prompto.
It’s common to see people yawn throughout the day. Some even brag about how little sleep they need. They are so used to being tired that they have nothing to contrast their fatigue with. They have mistaken sleepwalking for wakefulness.
These folks are ignorant. They don’t understand the physiological effects on a physical organism when it is sleep deprived. When we sleep, our body goes through various cycles. Dreaming is just one of these. When there isn’t enough dreamtime, the mind becomes constipated. Why? Because dreaming cleanses the mind of mental toxins.
You can equate this to any kind of elimination. I'll go no further.
Certain hormones are only released during the deep sleep cycle. One of these is growth hormone. A normal adult with less than eight hours of sleep, cannot stave off aging and disease, even if they maintain a perfect diet.
So you can see the importance of adequate bed rest. Your creativity depends on it. So does your life.
Another great read that’s invigorating and politically incorrect is available here http://www.prosperousartist.com, so just promise to not start reading it late at night.
Warm Regards,
Tania
