Hold That Thought

A year ago we moved, following in the footsteps of two friends who knew of our wish to leave the big city.

Within months of our move a new music director was appointed to the symphony orchestra. And this young, world-class conductor was getting rave reviews from both musicians and audience, which is a rare phenomenon. Since I’m a composer, I wanted to meet him.

So I held that thought.

Turns out he wanted to meet us too. At least that’s what we found out a couple of days ago. Yesterday we had lunch, and we realized that we had a lot in common. Plus, we had great rapport. Which is key when you’re considering entering a working relationship with someone.

The thing is that this fortuitous meeting happened naturally. I didn’t struggle or push to create the events that took place. They evolved because I wanted them to, because I was already feeling good about the meeting Before it ever happened.

It’s a lot of fun to experience your expectations. Many people plant seeds, but few know how to water the seed and nourish it with rays of joyous anticipation. But that’s how great things happen.

Thoughts are seeds. They need your attention. Don’t leave them unattended. Grace them with your presence of mind.

Now I’m holding another thought. But I won’t tell you what it is.

Happy planting.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French
