Hilarious Creativity

Sometimes creativity is a strange and funny thing.

Our daughter Clara is a case in point. Lately she’s been going through an identity crisis. Just kidding.

For the last three months she has not wanted anybody to use her given name. Pronouns are forbidden too, because she equates them with her name Clara. So we can’t say, “your lunch is ready”. It has to be “Wings’ lunch is ready”. That’s her current favorite name.

Another one of her names is Brushes. She loves watching the brushes in the car wash and named herself after them.

So Brushes and I visit the Greenlife grocery store to shop for some produce. For this excursion she was helping me choose our fruits and veggies. Or should I say, she was bringing me what looked scrumptious.

At one point she got away from me while exploring the tropical fruit section. I had to do it. I couldn’t call out “Clara” because she would protest. So I took a deep breath and said “Brushes, please come to Mommy.” You should have seen the looks of confusion and quizzical gazes we were exposed to. “How can you name your daughter Brushes,” they all beamed towards me.

It was hilarious. And went on for a while longer as I called out for our lovely Brushes several more times. It was judgment day for this Mommy.

Well, Brushes and I had a great time and I get a smile on my face every time I remember that shopping excursion.

Stay creative and be tickled. It’s the fun of it that matters. Learn how to have the last laugh and a prosperous life by going Now to Prosperous Artist.

Warm Regards,
Tania Gabrielle French
